Why companies work with us
A software partner that understands operations.
DevHeist is a software development and consulting company. We are small on purpose: the people who map the process are the people who build the system and the people who answer for it afterwards.

Principles
How we approach the work
- 01
We learn the business first
We sit with the people who do the work before we design anything. Most of what a system must handle turns up there, not in a specification.
- 02
One team, end to end
The people who map your process are the people who build the system and answer for it afterwards.
- 03
Built alongside the old way
New systems are rolled out while the old process still stands, until the new one has proven itself in daily work.
- 04
Still here after launch
Systems we built years ago are still running, still being extended, and still ours to support.
How we work
We understand how the business works before we write software for it.
- 01
Discover the business
We sit with the people who do the work and watch how it is actually done — which is rarely how it is described. Most of what a system has to handle turns up here, not in a specification.
- 02
Map the process
What exists already, what has to be kept, what the law requires and what the business will look like in three years. This is also where we argue against building things that are not needed.
- 03
Design the system
Data model first, screens second. If the model is right the interface is a detail; if it is wrong no interface will save it. Then the flows people use forty times a day are made short.
- 04
Build & integrate
Built in short cycles with something usable at the end of each one, and connected to the tills, shops, portals and tools the business already runs. You see the system grow and can change direction while it is still cheap.
- 05
Test in real workflows
Against real data and real edge cases, on the hardware it will run on. A till that is fast on a laptop and slow on the counter terminal has not been tested.
- 06
Launch & improve
Rolled out with the old process still standing until the new one has proven itself — then maintained, extended and supported. Systems we built years ago are still ours to answer for.
